The ExpeTune Suite comprises the z/OS performance tools ExpeTune,
FreezeFrame and ExpeTune DB.
ExpeTune answers the question 'which jobs should I run FreezeFrame
against?'. It facilitates the scheduling of FreezeFrame observation
sessions through the creation of 'watchlists'. ExpeTune's CICS monitoring
facility can also trigger FreezeFrame observation sessions automatically
against transactions that exceed threshold values.
ExpeTune can help to interpret the results of FreezeFrame observations.
Through its FreezeFrame index facility, it provides a high level overview of
the main results of a set of observations, helping the user choose the jobs
with the best tuning potential over all. Then, through its KnowledgeBase,
it can provide specific recommendations in relation to each individual job.
ExpeTune also offers a wide range of reporting capabilities based on other
sources of performance data such as SMF and MXG.
ExpeTune DB is aimed primarily at solving problems with dynamic SQL workload
and performance. It can also be used with FreezeFrame to explain SQL using
its enhanced explain capabilities.
