Macro 4 Free Database Health Check Service for SAP®

What is a Database Health Check?

Macro 4’s free Health Check will swiftly analyse your SAP database to identify which modules are generating the most data. We will show you just how much storage capacity could be released by archiving, reorganising or deleting older and unused data.

You will receive a report, listing:

  • your top 100 SAP tables by size (GB)
  • potential savings per module, in GB and in per cent

We will also give you a qualitative analysis of the health of your database and advice on next steps to achieve ‘quick wins’.

Why run a Health Check?

The Health Check will show you how to eliminate problems caused by unchecked database growth, such as:

  • Difficulties scheduling upgrades, which often require over 72 hours’ downtime
  • Excessive restore timescales, risking lengthy downtime and lost revenue in the event of a data corruption
  • Slower interactive performance, reducing the efficiency of end-users
  • Slower batch performance and backup runs, putting system availability at risk
  • Spiralling hardware and administration costs caused by relentless growth in storage requirements

What is involved in a Health Check?

The Health Check is quick, straightforward and non-invasive. It can be performed remotely by Macro 4, using non-confidential data supplied by you. To extract the data you simply run two standard SAP transactions and export the results into a spreadsheet.

Next Steps

1. Download the Health Check document which shows you which transactions to run. If you are running SAP version 4.7 or below click here. Otherwise click here.

2. Follow the simple process in the Health Check document and send the two spreadsheets containing your data to: healthcheck@macro4.com.

3. Macro 4 will contact you to acknowledge receipt of your email and to schedule a convenient time to conduct a Health Check review with you.

4. At the review you will receive your Health Check report and analysis.
