Macro 4 plc is a leading global software company represented in every major market worldwide.


Founded in 1968, Macro 4 comprises two divisions, both of which provide innovative software solutions for businesses.

Document Management Solutions (DMS) provides a comprehensive set of solutions which address document related issues and help organisations improve their service and productivity, whilst cutting costs and waste.

Systems Management Solutions (SMS) provides software that improves and maintains the smooth running of mainframe computers and allows users to find, analyse and fix problems across their business critical applications.

Macro 4 software solutions are used by many of the world's major organisations and it has established an excellent reputation for high quality, flexibility, good value and superior service.

1992     First iSeries (System i) product launched
1995     Acquisition of Primary Systems (first Unix product)

2000     Acquisition of Viewpoint/ISI (Columbus DW product)
2003     IBM OEM arrangement
2004     Launch of Columbus Central
