Legacy Application retirement

National Grid Gas implements rapid and cost-effective migration of large volumes of old data to new systems

Download the case study

National Grid Gas (formerly Transco) implemented an application decommissioning solution to maintain ongoing access to twenty years of pipeline work history data as part of a strategic program to unify twelve legacy computer systems.

It was essential for the organisation to retain quick, easy access to their legacy work history records, which included pipeline specifications and details of previous implementations. Rapid implementation of the new system meant there was minimal impact on the IT department, and staff efficiency was improved whilst full compliance with industry regulations for data retention was maintained.
