Macro 4 evangelizes new technology for the mainframe at GSE UK Conference

R&D specialists to share vision for mainframe modernization.

Crawley, UK, October 17 – Macro 4, a division of UNICOM® Global, will discuss the important role of new technologies and people in reinvigorating the mainframe when the company takes part in the GSE UK Conference on November 7–8.

Macro 4’s Open Systems Research and Development Manager, Neil Evans, will make the case for harnessing the massive processing capabilities of the mainframe to roll out transformative technologies such as Blockchain and cognitive computing in his session, ‘The latest emerging technologies: what mainframers need to know’, at 10.45am on Tuesday, November 7.

Keith Banham, Mainframe Research and Development Manager, will explore practical steps that mainframe users can take to meet the stringent demands of tough new data protection legislation and increased external security threats in his session, ‘Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) – Why, what and how – part of a GDPR compliance strategy’, at 2pm on Tuesday, November 7.

Later in the day Keith will be joined by Sarah Khalid, a relative newcomer to the mainframe, to discuss the vital contribution being made by new talent, in their GSE 101 session, ‘The joy of mainframe’, at 4.30pm.

Alongside the conference Macro 4 will be exhibiting its solutions for mainframe modernization and application lifecycle management on stand 32.

Keith Banham said, “The GSE annual conference is one of the most important events in the mainframe calendar. Every year the great and the good come together to discuss the latest technology developments and network with other mainframe specialists. We look forward to taking part in the discussion and demonstrating how the mainframe can support new technologies to become the backbone of digital transformation.”
